v0.4.22 · local-first

Pro license

The player’s free. Pro is the deep end.

Who Played That? plays your whole library, reads every tag, and treats sidemen as first-class citizens without costing a cent. A Pro license switches on the features that reach past the local files — bios, phone and TV streaming, scrobbling, and the housekeeping that keeps a big collection honest.

An artist's Bio tab: a Last.fm biography with an 'In this bio' index of every artist, album, and song the user owns, each one a link
Pro The Bio tab on every artist page — a Last.fm biography where every artist, album, and song that resolves to your library becomes a one-click link, with an “In this bio” index down the side.

Beyond the Bio tab, a license also switches on:

01

Last.fm scrobbling

Sign in once. Now-playing shows while a track is playing, a real scrobble lands once it crosses Last.fm’s half-played mark, and an offline queue catches up the moment your network comes back.

02

Phone access

Expose your library to any Subsonic-compatible phone client — Symfonium, DSub, Ultrasonic — over your LAN or Tailscale. Close the window and it drops to the tray so the phone keeps streaming.

03

Stereo & TV streaming

Push playback to a DLNA receiver — an AV amp, a smart TV — straight from the app, so the library that lives on your desk plays through the good speakers.

04

Library Health scheduler

A background pass that keeps scans, cover art, and metadata current, so a library that keeps growing never quietly drifts out of date.

What stays free.

The core player never asks for a key: local playback straight from disk, personnel-first search, tag and cover-art editing, and your own listening stats and history.

No account, no trial, no telemetry. And if a license ever lapses, the Pro features pause — but nothing you own is touched, and an existing Last.fm sign-in even survives until you renew.

How the key works.

  1. Get the app free from the Download page.
  2. Buy Pro from Settings → Account — checkout runs through LemonSqueezy.
  3. Paste your key in the same pane. It’s validated once, then the license lives on disk and works offline from then on.
